Mohsen Mohajer Biography

Born in June 1982 in Tehran, Iran

Mohsen Mohajer is a professional harmonica and electric guitar player, instructor, and performing artist. He began his professional performing career in 2005 and has since established an extensive career in live performance, studio recording, music education, and international harmonica festivals.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Applied Science and Technology, Art Unit 46, in Tehran. He has worked as a harmonica and electric guitar performer and instructor at several music schools and institutes in Tehran.

Mohsen Mohajer is an official artist of Hohner, Germany, one of the world’s most renowned harmonica manufacturers. He is also a member of the Classical Singers Association of the Music House of Iran.

Mohsen has performed harmonica on a number of recorded albums and musical projects, including:

Throughout his career, Mohsen has performed harmonica and electric guitar in concerts and live musical projects alongside numerous prominent Iranian artists and bands, including:

Reza Yazdani, Hamid Hami, Mehdi Modarres, Saeed Shahrooz, Amirhossein Samiei, Ehsan Haghshenas, Kamran Rasoulzadeh, as well as Novaye Aftab Orchestra, Adamakha Band, Aksan Band, Octave Band, Datar Band, and many others.

He has also collaborated with Rambod Javan and appeared as a musician in the popular Iranian television program Khandevaneh, during its first and second seasons.

Mohsen Mohajer has achieved numerous awards and distinctions in national and international harmonica competitions and festivals.

• First Place – Shams Festival of Music, 2012, Country Music category.

• World Harmonica Festival, Germany – 2017:

  Recipient of two performance certificates in Jazz, Blues, and Country, receiving an Excellent grade.

• Third Place – Chromatic Harmonica Category, 6th Seoul International Harmonica Festival (SIHF), South Korea, 2018.
• Third Place – Diatonic Blues Category, and Best Participant in the Chromatic Harmonica Category, 7th Seoul International Harmonica Festival (SIHF), South Korea, 2019.
